Markdown & HTML table generator

Paste cells from a spreadsheet or CSV — or edit the grid directly — to get a clean Markdown, HTML, LaTeX or plain-text table.

Output:
Tip: edit cells in the grid; the output follows.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server.

Getting data in

  • From Excel or Google Sheets: select the cells, copy, and paste into the box. Tabs between cells are detected automatically.
  • From CSV: paste the text. Commas or semicolons are detected, and quoted fields with commas inside are handled.

Markdown table syntax

Columns are separated by |, and the second line sets alignment: :--- left, :---: centre and ---: right. Tables are part of GitHub-flavoured Markdown, so they work on GitHub, GitLab, Reddit, Notion and most docs tools.

Preview your Markdown with the Markdown editor, or turn CSV into JSON with the CSV to JSON converter.

Frequently asked questions

How do I put a pipe character in a Markdown table?

Escape it as \|. The generator does this for you.

Are numbers right-aligned?

With “Numbers right” selected, columns where every value looks like a number, price or percentage are right-aligned.

Can I edit the table after pasting?

Yes. Click any cell in the grid to edit it; the output updates as you type.
